01 - Anchors, rollers and compensators

Categories

In this section you’ll find different types of mooring systems, from the most traditional grapnel anchor to the flat anchor and the plough anchor, these two latter being slightly trickier to use but more suitable for most seabeds. For muddy or sandy seabeds, we suggest a Danforth or a Trefoil anchor since they are the flat anchor models that better adapt to these conditions. Once you have chosen the most suitable anchor, also keeping into account the chains, connectors and other important anchorage accessories, let’s move on to the bow roller. This roller is crucial during the anchorage and mooring phase: it’s where the anchor is housed when not in use and it makes it easier to haul it in or pay it out. Several stainless steel, aluminium and brass rollers are available in the Osculati catalogue. Moreover, this section also offers the most common alloy rollers and fairleads as well as different types of mooring compensators.
